GAME SUMMARY
Catmercs: Big Bug Invasion is a 1-or-2-player run-and-gun scrolling shooter for the NES. Play as the cat mercenaries Maiya or Zagg — or grab a friend and take both — and blast through a big bug invasion. A homebrew entrant in the 2023 NESDev Competition by Team Disposable and Zoliononline, with a clear Gunsmoke influence.
Controls
- Move: Arrow Keys (D-Pad)
- Shoot: Z (B) — hold to keep firing in the same direction
- Start / choose 1P or 2P: Enter (Start)
Tips
- Hold the shoot button to lock your fire in one direction; release and press again to re-aim.
- It's built for co-op — a second gamepad is the easiest way to play two-up.
